Requirements: Bachelor in production engineering, industrial engineering, or related;
6 months experience as engineer with laser cladding
Project Manager for laser application for non-profit research company; meet with customers to identify projects, refine scope; develop processes for laser welding of automotive powertrain components; design tooling, fixtures for clamping of parts for laser welding process; design induction coils for part preheating prior to welding or heating during cladding or additive manufacturing; use SKM, DCAM, Trumpf Tru Tops CAD/Cam software for machine tool path generation for laser welding, cladding in combination with induction heating processes; investigate laser beam welding of steel, aluminum and nickel based alloys; process optimization for laser welding, cutting, ablation, cladding, additive manufacturing, heat treating; identify research and development projects; oversee project execution, completion and launch; metallographic evaluation/analysis of materials and microhardness testing, evaluation of grain sizes, microstructures/phase changes.
