Laser Applications Project Manager

Job title:          Laser Applications Project Manager

Location:         Fraunhofer USA Center Midwest CMW, Plymouth, MI

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with state of the art laser equipment on cutting edge technology projects across a wide range of industrial sectors working with a variety of industrial customers.

Experience Required

  • Managing Technical Projects
  • Laser Process Development
  • Robot and CNC machine programming
  • Working with high power fiber, disk or diode lasers.
  • Develop laser welding, cutting, cladding, laser heat treatment and additive manufacturing processes
  • Metallographic testing of weld specimens
  • Technical presentation skills and report writing
  • General welding technology experience

Candidate should possess good interpersonal skills in order to work directly with customers.

The ideal candidate will show initiative, possess organization skills and must be able to work independently and as part of a team depending on the specific project.

Knowledge and experience working with CAD software and working from design drawings would also be desirable, as would experience with general welding process technology and metallurgical analysis of welds.

Required experience: minimum Bachelor's degree in appropriate Engineering or science subject and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with lasers for materials processing applications.

Administrative/ Quality Management Representative

Job title:         Administrative/ Quality Management Representative

Location:         Fraunhofer USA Center Midwest CMW, Plymouth, MI

FRAUNHOFER USA Inc., Center Midwest– Laser Applications Division is looking for an Administrative/ Quality Management Representative to serve in a key role supporting day to day research and development operations at its Plymouth location.

 

The ideal candidate will be an active and engaged team member responsible for being the point person for greeting clients in person and on the phone, documenting meetings, and supporting the division with administrative duties related to ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, spare parts order management and other general office administrative tasks.

Major Job Responsibilities 

  1. Administrative Functions:

-Assist Division Manager with general administrative functions at   division.

-Buyer on ERP system (Deltek) - manage purchase order process   for division.

-Schedule customer visits and conference rooms

-Prepare for customer meetings and meet and greet customers   on arrival

-Manage Office Supplies, printing of business cards and   promotional items

-Arrange travel for division staff

-Plan and manage open house events and other promotional   activities.

2. Quality Management Functions

-Conduct ongoing maintenance and updates of IS0 9001:2015   quality management system.

-Review calibration of equipment, training records,   nonconformance records and internal audit schedules.

-Arrange and facilitate ISO external surveillance audits

-Communicate any new ISO requirements to Division Manager.

3. Spare Parts Management:

-Process spare parts orders, issue order acknowledgements, and   communicate delivery schedule.

-Assist project managers with inventory management

-Prepare and inspect orders prior to shipment

-Process packaging and shipping of spare parts to customers.

-Communicate invoicing requirements to accounting   department.

Requirements

  • Experience working with ISO9001 Quality Management Systems 
  • Purchase order processing / ERP system experience.
  • Experience with spare part order processing, shipping and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to follow-up before deadline.
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Service-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Constructive team-player with a passion for helping others.
