Fraunhofer USA at Hannover Messe 2016

8.4.2016

“Integrated Industry- Discover Solutions” - The Hannover Industry Fair (Hannover Messe- Germany) 25-29th April, 2016, becomes the world’s stage for introductions, discussions and advancement of scientific research and transatlantic partnerships.

USA is the official 2016 partner country of Hannover Messe 2016.

Fraunhofer USA is taking advantage of the opportunity to present itself in Hannover for the first time in the Research and Technology Hall 2, booth C16 (Fraunhofer Society Main Space) and the USA Pavilion, booth B60-11.

Fraunhofer USA, a subsidiary of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in Germany, develops and validates scientific applications and technologies for industrial innovation in the USA. Fraunhofer USA’s Research Centers and Fraunhofer-Institutes in Germany work together to provide the most versatile cutting-edge technologies to a global market. We offer unique transatlantic business opportunities to close the innovation gap from the lab to the real market.

Our seven US Research Centers advance the fields of Molecular Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing, Sustainable Energy, Laser Technologies, Coatings and Diamond Electronics, Experimental Software Engineering and Energy Innovation in the US and strengthen Transatlantic Collaboration in Education, Applied Research and Innovation.

One example of successful transatlantic partnership is shown at our booth in Hall 2/ C16. This partnership involves the Fraunhofer USA Center for Experimental Software Engineering (CESE) in College Park, Maryland and the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering in Kaiserslautern/Germany.

In particular, these partners have developed the research platform “Concept Car”.

“Concept Car” highlights how challenges faced by developers of tomorrow’s highly automated vehicles can be addressed by Fraunhofer’s state-of-the-art development and testing methods. Most importantly, these methods draw on IESE and CESE’s combined competences, all of which are needed to make the clients’ software systems both secure and safe.

Join us to learn more about Fraunhofer USA during the Hall 2 Forum Presentation on April 25th, 2016 from 12:00 until 1:30pm. President of Fraunhofer USA, Prof. Frank Treppe, will start with an overview of Fraunhofer USA followed by Fraunhofer USA Executive Directors and the Institute Director of Business Development for Fraunhofer IESE in Kaiserlautern. Presentations are followed by a panel discussion and time for Q&A.
