Research Scientist
Fraunhofer USA, Inc., Center for Experimental Software Engineering, Maryland is seeking a software and computer scientist to support research and technology transfer projects for government, industry, and internal customers. Position responsibilities may include:

• Basic and applied research and development, including methods, process, and tools.
• Various software engineering tasks related to all phases of the system development lifecycle.
• Project work related to requirements, architecture, testing, and verification & validation.
• Elicitation and modeling of requirements and web application behaviors.
• Technology transfer/infusion.
• Training and/or course instruction.
• Preparation, review, and presentation of technical and scholarly publications.

Requirements
Qualified candidates will have at least three (3) years of experience in software engineering research. Required skills include:

• Expertise in the development of software systems, including software architecture and cloud computing.
• Expertise in software testing and working knowledge related to test execution frameworks such as Selenium, Guitar, and Skoll and other distributed testing environments.
• Expertise in using several programming languages, including Java, Python,C/C++, and C#, as well as several DBMSs including MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge and familiarity with computer-assisted analysis of software source code.
• Expertise in developing and applying techniques for symbolic evaluation and machine learning.
• Experience in the writing of successful research proposals to funding agencies.
• Experience in empirical studies of software systems.
• Experience in teaching graduate software engineering courses.

Successful candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills, a track record of publishing technical peer-reviewed articles, and the ability to work with external customers, including high level executives. PhD in relevant discipline is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
