The Fraunhofer Center for Coatings and Laser Applications, in partnership with Michigan State University, provides innovative research and development services in coating technologies and laser applications.


Coating Technology Division

 

At the Coating Technology Division we offer research services based on our expertise and knowledge in the following areas:

  • PVD - Carbon Based and Ceramic Coatings

Laser Applications Division

 

The Laser Applications Division carries out research and prototype applications development. The division has a wide range of expertise in Laser processing technology, including

  • Advanced laser and hybrid laser welding technology

  • Remote laser welding and cutting

  • Laser brazing and joining of dissimilar materials

  • Laser cladding (Direct Metal Deposition / Laser Additive Manufacturing)

  • Laser Hardening
